my sniffer xr71 found one component in reverse position a capacitor going to the 556 to give 12v supply is in reverse, now its tested temporarily works ok but not convince my meter is not working  and it only detects metals and not gold, because i tested it with golds rings and necklace its not working, i disassemble it again becuase im trying to resolve some issue.

may be you can help faster what is the problem with my meter it doesnt even move. it only detect a metal about 4inch with a 2.2 ohms coil at 20 turns. or #20 awg copper wire

and aslo can you uplaod a picture of your test probe and circuit pcb please and thank you

if it detects ordinary metal with same size of precious metal it should detect same. gold is metal and no such metal detector that can only detect gold. try to search in this forum all data of xr71 were posted here with search coil for small targets as well the adjustments. also try to review the article on how pi md works the one from university.  for oscilloscope pcb i have no file i use vero board (matrix board) for quick building.

regards, ram,

Take off your caps lock or are you shouting at Ram? If your detector dose not function like it should it is not the fault of other members that are trying to help you but your own you are obviously not capable of building such a project.

what is the ideal Searchcoil to delta pulse 2. The cable is 8-pin adsl cable. Diameter  40-45cm? 3-4 turn?
