Xavier  , thanks for the help you gave Ali and me .  We should help eachother as much as possible . It gives me a good feeling when I can help people . At my age that is all I can do and get pleasure from . I hope Ali will show us a nice picture and when the snow is gone out of his area he will find a lot of goodies .  Regards to you my friend  . Cornelius

Go Up Go Down

 Smiley Hi Cornelius

Is it not the purpose of this forum to help when we know and get helped when we don?t. It is the only way that we can all learn and go forward. By the way I?m going to build another one of those BFO with discriminator as I gave the one that I build to my nephew for Christmas but I will change the oscillators with a crystal oscillators it should be a fun machine and could make a great pinpointing device. I do have a question for you out of all the detectors that you know with available schematics witch one would you build and why?

Best Regards
Xavier

Xavier  changing the oscillator to a cristal oscillator would make the BFO much stabler . I had an idea to do that too but than started working with PI machines . Maybe because I built quite a few PI detectors I found that the  ORIGINAL  DBP 2010 has become my favorite . Coils are easy to make . With a pinpointer made with a ferrite rod it could not be any better .   Cornelius

Xavier , I would not download the schematics because I have never seen a complete schematic there yet . On the DPB 2010 schematic there was no  Module schematic . This module is part of the detector and without it you are no-where . Maybe they have changed the dowload by now but I am not sure .  Another thing I could not understand is why they have re-drawn the original schematic  ?   The orighinal schematic has been built by me twice over  . I have taken out all the little mistakes made in the book .  Now I would say it is the best PI detector I have ever seen or worked with . It will discriminate also . Why ? Because I tried it !      Regards  Cornelius
