Ok great, I'll do that.  I have taken the detector apart to transplant it into a case I had, when I noticed that the Headphone Jack was not connected,no wires going to it. Anyway hooking it up is not a problem, you've done all the hard work already.

Again, thanks so much for the detector, its awesome.

Sincerely  Aliman

Cornelius I was just looking at the schematic for connecting the headphone jack, I'm confused as to where I would solder the the wires for the jack. Sorry I'm a beginner. Pray

Ali thats the trouble when you are a beginner  .  A plug for a headphone has a few soldering contacts .  If you have a volt-meter you can figure out a few things .  There are usually three contacts on the phone jack plug . Your speaker  wires are connected to the jack wires  but .......when you plug your phone in  the plug on your phone should disconnect the connection to your speaker . When you unplug your phone  , the connection to your speaker should be re-connected . Maybe  Xavier can explain it a bit better than I can  . If everything fails ask somebody that has done this before .  Cornelius ( PS look at the schematic I included in the box I sent you !!!!)

Ok, I'm looking at the schematic right now, I can see that the phone jack has three connections and the left and right channels have been joined to form one connection. The other one is ground. What are "S2a,S2b,S2c" on the schematic near the phone jack symbol?Huh?
Fear not, Cornelius. I have figured it out!  The phone jack is connected to the Audio out and the speaker is connected in series to the Phone jack.
So the audio first goes to the Phone jack, if nothing is plugged in, then it goes to the  Speaker then back to the audio circuit. Correct ?

Wink I think you got it Ali all that it is, is a switch so the one wire from the speaker will be cut off when you plug in the head phone you will see that one side of your plug has a contact that opens if you plug in the jack that?s the cut of for the speaker

Happy Hunting
Xavier

Thanks guys, I followed the wiring diagram in fig.7 of the Sandbanks instructions and now my headphones work ! Yahoo!
I'll post a pic of the detector in it's New case later on.

Thanks very much Cornelius, if it wasn't for you I'd still be sourcing parts for this project.

 Aliman
