Yes I did try to adjust VR1, and the volume is added on. Thats right

Should the sound coming from the speaker be a high pitched Squeal, or a Clicking sound ?

Ali as far as I know it should be a high pitch now I have never build it my self so i could be wrong but from what I can remember Cornelius said that it should be high pitch here is what I can suggest that you do turn the control knob to mid way volume mid way then turn VR1 to the left No to the right and see if the pitch comes down that should balance out IC4 come to think about it you can try either way but turn it very slowly if you find that the volume is to low then turn it up a bit OK try that and get back to me

Xavier, I just tried what you recommended. Adjusting VR1 with the controls adjusted midway, didn't do anything to the sound. It stayed high pitch.
Xavier, I have a few 78L12's in my posession. I don't have any 79L05, gotta order a few.
Should I replace the 78L12 and see what happens. Its part # UA78L12ACLPRE3.

Aliman if you Popped the one on the board you will pop the new one too we have to find the fault first that's the problem. if you measure the voltage on neg and pos of the batteries do you get 18 volt? (what I mean is the two wires going to the board)if not lest say you get 5 volt then you got a short or the batteries are dead you got to test the batteries by placing a load on them and then see if they give you the corect voltage (out of the circuit)

Yep, sorry, another circuit jumped into my mind, it's really not N-channel, but a P-channel depletion FET,  but seems for me that this one is also opens for zero gate voltage. Anyway, until the "supposed-to-be +12V" rail is not +12V or near (as i understand this is still the case), IC5 will never go high, and will never be able to shut down Tr6. It was useful to investigate this first. To be positive, what i suggest, is to desolder the 7812 output pin form the board (and bend it out carefully) while having the ground and input in the board. Measure the outout voltage this way. If Ali has output short, this way he should have correct voltage (12V), but dropping back when leg is resoldiered.

PS: I think Aliman has more than 2 batteries, if he want's to substitute the voltage pump  as well. With 18V he won't be able to drive the 7812 and the 7905 at the same time (both have ~1V drop) 12+5+1+1 he needs 19-20V at least.

Hope this is considered to be positive, but please let me know if i'm saying trivial things.

Thanks,
Bye

All feed back is welcomed but the thing is that it was working when it was send to Aliman and was operating on two 9v batteries so it still should. Like you say he will not have the full 12v out but it must still work like this at least till he can get a proper battery pac and what?s the point of getting one now?

Cornelius is right, I may have caused damage to it when I attempted to add an ON/OFF switch. Cry
Anyway I purchased two New 9V batteries and it seems to have made a difference in the tone of the sound.
Sorry for driving everybody nuts over this.

Xavier .  The regular battery is connected between  ( in the schematic ) OV  ( Plus ) and the Minus 10.5 V . Adding another battery  it should be connected  to the OV  ( minus ) and the  IC 8  ( the plus ) . This has been working for me .   Cornelius
