its a copy. just a copy, but I did add tantalums on bottom side that I do always. tantalums are easely to find in
trash electronics boards as - mother, video, HD, CD-ROM, DVD boards etc. so there is not a problem where to find.
anyway you can set tantalums or can not. I did keep a size of original board so it will fit the Ekilite housing that Bara used.
have not original board, all measuring of sizes I do in Sprint Layout. I hope on your help
just cause your english is perfect, mine not, you may ask I may not. so you may help me to get
pics of maybe C,D revision boards that will give me more useful info.

I used to hang around the shop with Jim Pugh and helped pour the epoxy in the coils and such (Not much, but a little bit) and saw him putting the Barracuda together and I even had him build me one and it was the best dang machine for water hunting I ever owned. VERY DEEP MACHINE and stable in salt water--But when winter came around, I traded the machine for a Tesoro Toltec 2 that a friend of Jim's owned. I'll admit that I wish I had kept that detector. He sold me another detector with PI circuit placed in a Search Scan control housing and it kept leaking  and so he didn't want to fix it for me and so I wrapped that detector across a tree I was so aggravated with it. Then he told me to bring it back to him and he'd see if he could fix it for me--and said it couldn't be fixed. So, that was that! I've ran into Jim only once on a farm field hunt since then and haven't heard from him since. I wonder if he's still building detectors such as the Barracuda or other units? JIM, IF YOU'RE OUT THERE, THEN HELLO MAN. Long time, no see.

When I owned my underwater Barracuda, it was extremely hot on small gold rings and coins down pretty deep. I recall stepping down into water at beach and finding about 5 pieces of jewelry before I got going good. 2 gold rings and 3 costume pieces, but that impressed me. And it seemed to go too far down in the sand for some items such as coins and other small trash items(No Discrimination). And it would go way down deep to a beer can or piece of iron (My only gripe against PI units)but if it was depth and capability you were after in salt water, it could impress you.
