Go Up Go Down

Hi
I am thinking of building the sandbanks pulse induction metal detector, and came across your post about the circuit. I have a few questions about the components listed,
Can you please tell me what the part marked L1: LOP is as I cannot find it on the PCB.
Also on the PCB the component next to L2 appears to be a ceramic disc capacitor, but I am unable to work out the value of it.

Many Thanks
Graham

Hi
I am looking at the mod for the Sandbanks circuit; I have looked at the new parts list and the new PCB layout. The part for the new charge pump circuit, it looks like it’s a ceramic disc capacitor next to L2 .I cannot see the part number on the PCB layout or any mention of it in the parts list, but it is shown in a photo of the new parts. Also in the parts list L1 is shown as LOP? I may have missed something “the more you look the less you see”.

The cap is not that importants on the value as long as it gets the Voltage Pump / Bucking circuit singing.  Just Bread Board the Pump circuit and have a play at it.

There are a number of simple PI circuits available that are better and less head issues to build.   Hell Winding your own Transformer for the original circuit would be easier then monkeying around with this one I think.

Other PI's like the little Barracuda are much better detectors and just as easy to build.
