Hi my name is Rod.
I am newbie to detecting and to gold prospecting.
I caught up with an old fried a few weeks ago who fossicks around the Victorian gold fields here in Australia better known as the golden triangle.
I went out one time with him just looking for some quite time to have chat about old times and found myself hooked on the detecting thing a few weeks later.
So here I am.
I live only about a 50 minute drive from Castlemaine and the rest of the Victorian gold fields. I am under no illusion. It’s hard work and a massive learning curve, but fun and a very pleasant activity.
As yet i have not found any gold. :'(Any tips Very welcome so looking forward to that day.
I found just about everything else ever bought to the great Australian outdoors. LOL
I am still learning to identify the sounds of my detectors and how to identify where to look.
Finding this forum has made me feel less alone and out of my depth. Thanks for its welcome.
