Greetings all:

I am new to metal detecting, and was searching the web for some good information on how to get started. That search lead me here.

Hi Wolfy,

Bay area - I was wondering if Golden Gate Park was open to MD'ing. Seems like it might be rich, though if allowed -  heavily searched.

Lots of cool beach areas over your way. Hope we get a chance to say "hi" in person some day.

Golden Gate Park is OK, Ocean Beach and the local beaches next to San Francisco are not OK.
Any GGNRA beach or park is off limits, all the beaches south is cool. 15 million people visit the park
annually, there are some who people detect it on a regular basis but theres plenty of area to cover,
I found silver the first time I went. See you out at the coast.  Cool
