Hello guys!

Anybody here has ever used resistivity in finding treasures or mineral ores? How about the 3d imaging versions are they accurate and could reach deep enough? As I know, resistivity scanners are more versatile and have more deep capability compare to magnetometers and other systems.

I've done some really fine work with monopulse resolution improvement techniques. Multiple receiver coils with a single transmitter. Multiple transmitter coils with a single receiver coil. Both work great but there is a drawback. The time for a 3d image generation was around 15 seconds in both cases. Technology just isn't there yet.

Radar based machines are still the size of a lawnmower making them impractical. I'm afraid 3d imaging is a long way off.

GD thanks for that post. I think about this sometimes when I am hunting. Have you put out a thread on how this works? What would the receiver configuration look like?

It does work but has serious limitations. The coils have to be fired one after another and the receiver has to be read after each firing or vice versa. The transmitter fires many times while the receiver reads the coils one after another. Basically, you can't move the coil while this is happening. You have to wait for each coil to be read and the return signal turned into an image, or part of one. Then you have to combine them and display the result.

Works great but doesn't really work fast and due to physics, it can't.
