Electroscopes Huh?

I came across the name of this instrument, device, etc. and haven't the foggiest idea of what it is ?? Also would like to know if any of our forum members are familiar with this device. Can explain what it is and have some hands on experience with this unit.

Can it be used, in conjunction with metal detectors and be an effective tool?? I Hope I'm not out of line here? If this does not belong here just tell me where to go? Thank you very much as any an all your feedback will be appreciated. SP USAF 62-66

Electroscope theory is that you put a sample of what you want to find and as you aim your scope, it indicates the direction of like materials. Put gold in and it points towards gold. No indication of how far away it is so to be frank, there will always be gold in any direction. Some of it may be 11 feet away, some might be 1000 yards away and some may be 3000 miles away. In fact, that was the defense in court when they were sued for non performance of their claims.

Basically, it is like homeopathy. If you truly believe, it may work for you but not because of the instrument. In my opinion, you are wasting your money. You can do better using tried and proven techniques learned right from these forums.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
