Hello Cobra5, welcome from Arizona.
It helps if you're a bit more specific when asking questions. For instance, I have experience hunting in Texas, but I rather doubt my experience would do you any good since most of it was limited in time and scope and done way back when I barely knew which end of a detector to hold
. After all, you're talking about a huge area geographically, full of lot's of legends and treasure leads (some purely tall tales and some that sound like they have a good chance of "panning out"--unless someone already beat you to it) and then there's all that history laying around waiting for someone to pass a coil over it. The fact that most of the land is private property is both a serious obstacle to overcome and a great opportunity to hunt "virgin" territory.....if you know who and how to ask for permission. If you're talking about hunting state parks---forget about it! That's strictly verboten in Texas. And if you're talking about County or City parks, you'll have to take that on a case by case basis....and in some cases park by park since some San Antonio parks allow MD'ing with a permit and some don't.
So, rethink your question and then re-ask it. You might get the kind of answers you're looking fro.
