Went to do some scouting at Clydesdale, (Victoria), yesterday. Found where I had dug a hole in a cliff back in the early sixties. Got a good haul of gold then - mainly tomato seed sized colours. My share was approximately a desert spoon of gold. I don't know what I did with the gold then but I have lost it over time.
No gold from yesterday. Found a bunch of bullets in the State park. The old time diggers sure turned over a lot of dirt. I tried out a 12" mono but is was too sensitive, ie I was picking up a tin can from a foot off side. I could also detect the Navaro 4x4 at over a yard or two away. I will go back to my small mono.
After the swapping of the coil I am going to have to set up the electronics again. I have added an entirely new amplifier to my modified Hammerhead design to pick out, (I am hoping), a better representation of gold. I did not detect any hot rocks yesterday. I don't know if there were any there or if the design was working. I will have to go to Bendigo where there were hot rocks aplenty to resolve this question.
I am going to have to make a new circuit board as the original has had so many modifications that it looks like a dogs breakfast.
I will let you know how I get on.
