Go Up Go Down

Good morning folks and greetings from a not quite so wet and horrible  Fight Hastings UK.
I've been reading the many posts on this forum with much delight and realised my knowledge of electronics is pitiful!
I'm a newcomer to building electronics, (albeit kits so far) and must say I'm very much enjoying it! I can only hope to learn a fraction of what some of you know!!
I've built the Surf Pi kit 1.2 from Silverdog, the Mini-pulse Plus and now just completed the Chance PI ver 1.2.1?
All are working quite well and I am lucky enough to only live about 10 mins from the beach.
I've used all the machines and have found a good deal of items since I started (about December last year) including a 9ct gold and emerald signet ring from 1855!
The area I currently search being an old gun galley, I've found many musket balls and other small ordnance too up to a 20mm cartridge from 1941 and a few old military buttons but nothing too outstanding condition wise.
I hope to get searching again as soon as the tides are low enough! (about a week)
When I eventually get enough time I would like to make a few videos of the various machines in use, there are many videos demonstrating on a bench but not so many of them in the field!
Its such a fun hobby and the sense of achievement from finding something with a machine built by your own hand is priceless!
I look forward to making some new friends on here and wish you all the very best with your respective projects!

Happy hunting folks  Great

Thanks for the welcome!  I'll add some pictures of the machines as soon as I can figure out how lol
I've just about finished off another surf pi for a friend this morning Smiley
Some cosmetic issues but it's working well enough.
9.5" coil 0.56mm magnet wire 301.7uH 1.6 ohm. With 3 90 ohm resistor.
Happy days!

Welcome TM from another Phoenician in sunny Arizona. Always good to hear from our friends across the pond. Don't forget to post some pics of your finds. We love pictures.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.
