Go Up Go Down

Initially, I decided not to watch this thinking it was yet another show about how detector users go out and in 5 minutes time get rich. My wife and I were sitting in the living room when she said, "Oh, look. Here's a show about metal detecting." Before I could object (yes, she had the remote) she started it and said, "The blurb says it's fiction." We settled in to watch.

Well, prepared to hate it, I was happily surprised with how entertaining it was. Each episode is 30 minutes long so you won't invest too much time if you hate it but I'm betting you will love it. Two blokes in England are detecting buddies with all the problems that life offers. They detect for relaxation and camaraderie. Like many of us, their lives impact their detecting time and their time in the fields causes other issues.

Not to give the story plot away, but, whoever wrote this knows us very, very well. It was so true to the hobby that I am looking forward to next season. Oh, I hope there is one!

I give this one a thumbs up and I hate shows about treasure hunting. So if you get Netflix, watch this one. The last episode will have to be discussed here. I guarantee it.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I do plan to watch it again so I'll watch for you next time.

Save you some cash.

Someone else posted about this show a couple of weeks ago. Even as I read it, I thought that I would never watch it. My accidental tuning in was a blessing. I looked for that earlier post but the search block is wonky again. Couldn't find it.

I also happened to run across it on Netflix. Like GD I wasn't going to watch it, however, the wife likes the British TV shows so we gave it a go. Only watched one so far but it was sort of neat. Not the usual "sweet nector" like most of the recent detector shows.

Then I won't tell her about Acorn TV on Roku. It has hundreds of those British TV shows including Time Team for us treasure hunters.
