There is no harm in using any size battery when it comes to the mah rating. The only thing that matters is the voltage and the drop off rate when it discharges. You want a flat rate of discharge and the highest mah rating you can fit in the space. That rating increases the amount of time you can use it before you have to recharge. LiPo batteries discharche when they are not in use. The decay is slow but you can discharge them just by not using them. So, when you use a charger on them, get one that has an on/off timer system and don't trickle charge them like other batteries.
Alkaline AA batteries are rated between 1200mah and 1500mah. You can get LiPo batteries that have double that. Go for it.
