If you dont have enough Money to buy a new device, you must be happy with what you have.
I have two children and I cannot make Money for a new device.
I did not buy it. My friend gave it to me and said "repair this and it is yours."
I have bought a 20k pot 3.20 usd included shipping.

You must not have read my post. The pot is a 25k pot, not 20k.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I think If I buy 20 k=

original 25k/10turns=2,5k per one revolution
after 8 turns it is 20k.

I think you said ground canceling for mineral soil cancellation. On the clockwise you may decrease, Crossclockwise you may increase. I will use 8 revolutions to the increase. If it does not work, I will buy a 50k 10 turn. Then I may use 5 turns=25kohms.

I thought this, directly a resistor and a 3 pin switch makes me 2 revolutions to the clockwise.

Try it without first-it may be within the range you need anyway without the R, Either with or without the resistor - you shouldn't need to mount a switch.

Nearly 30 days later I will have the pot.
The detectors and the pcb are clear and are in very good condition.
No defacing, no corrosien etc. Only the pot and some battery terminals must be changed.
I have changed some terminals but the pins in the center are pressed. I moved terminals with knife and put the new terminal and then pressed the center pin with screwdriver again.
