6.99 item + 31.49 shipping

That is the cost for Priority International Shipping which is required for tracking a parcel to Turkey. There are some countries where postal service is bad and packages get lost. A parcel with tracking is the only safe way to get it there.

Try looking here:

and see if you can find one that will ship to you free.

My advice is to get an ordinary 25k pot and see if that fixes you problem first before investing more time in the problem. In most cases the ground balance on the Groundhog doesn't make any difference at all and the detector still works fine. It only makes a difference in iron rich soil or where there is a lot of animal matter (like in a barnyard). Otherwise, the ground balance is kind of useless. So try it with a single turn pot.

Something else you may want to research is a vernier knob which attaches with the parts that hold the pot in. The vernier knob has gearing inside which will mimic a 10 turn pot. It has the added benefit of being marked so you can read your setting, jot it down and when you next return to the same spot, you can reset it quickly.

That button is most likely a lock to keep the knob from turning, not a reset.

Thanks. I want to ask one more thing.
Does this machine search the galleries underground? Tunnels or room?

Absolutely not. It looks for metal. ONLY metal. and the depth is maybe a 12" to 18" at the most (30cm - 40cm). There are machines that look for a void. Ground penetrating radar, for example, but they are priced at many thousands of dollars.

I have a big too coil nearly 30 cms diameter.

May I test the coil with the multimeter if is it working or not? I think I need a schematic of the cable colors.

I'm not sure how much you can learn with a multimeter since the Groundhog coils have active components inside. There are capacitors, resistors and small inductors inside some of them. The only true test is to plug it in and see what happens. I have a 30cm coil for mine and I get better depth from my 8" coil - the basic one that came with the machine.

If you think this or any portable detector is going to find rooms full of treasure underground you are mistaken. Try it on your car when you get it working. In the air, you can find a car at around 1 meter. In the ground, probably around 50cm if you are extremely skilled and very lucky. All you can tell is that there is metal there.
