.

Hello johnboydetecting.  The Fisher 1225x schematic is here in our Thunting.com download area.  I remember the Fisher factory search coil was a concentric coil not a DD .  It's an older machine , I am sure you can do some mods on it.     Regards...........Eugene

Hello johnboydetecting .  Both the 1225 and 1235 run at 5.5 khz.   Deeper will be a change of the circuit . Accuracy will be a better searchcoil than the one you are using.

Compare the two schematics side by side , the 1225x and the 1235x  , not much difference but there is a
difference !!

I only spent a few minutes looking at them both but interesting to see the resistors that are changed and I saw one capacitor that is different.  May be causing a higher peak to peak voltage for the transmit oscillator ??

Regards.............Eugene

hi Eugene any idea what grade wire and how many turns etc. I've never made a coil but want to give it ago also I'm looking at both schematics i take it the 1235x is better their for if i replace the parts that are diffrent to the same parts mine will be better ? And is that the best way to go or is their even better bits i can replace them with thank you very much for your help its the first time i have ever tried to do anything like this but i can solder so hopefully it will go ok Shame

The schematic diagrams been drawn by reversed engineering they are NOT FISHER certified originals and they may have errors.
In my opinion the chances are that you will end up with a worst detector of what you have now if you try to modify the PCB board, especial if you only have soldering skills.
Spend the time LEARN your detector it will find many Good things for you, you need to speak his language
Save your money for a better machine.

Go Up Go Down

It only goes about 2"deep it only cost £5 so if it doesn't work its better to have tried  than just chuck it away and i haven't just got soldering skills i just haven't worked on detectors before I've got all the sparkys tools as well so I'm going to give it a go as soon as i get the time thanks for your input anyway  Undecided
