Go Up Go Down

Okay, so here is my question. I recently went to search a house that was built late 1700's. My problem was my threshold. I couldn't get ANY sound at all almost anywhere I went. I held the machine up, got a threshold, put it to the ground, it would go silent. Anyone have any advice? I am new to this machine.

Also, as a side note, I think I found a play piece of money. Its about the size of a nickle. One side says M&G and the other side says 15c

Any clues to what this might be from?

Thanks!

Your ground balance might be set incorrectly. What you are hearing or not hearing is the ground interference being canceled. Either turn it off, set it to auto balance or adjust it. Refer to your manual.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Your machine could be nulling out do to other objects in the ground, depending on how much discrimination you are using.

Could it also be that there was very little to no minerals in the ground?

Hi,
You probably have the sensitivity set way too high - around 32 or so.
Try backing it way down until you get threshold.

You didnt give the settings you are using.
I am guessing you are in conductive sounds.
Discrimination,Blacked out areas, will cause the threshhold to null or go silent.
This is very common in extremly trashy areas.
a better setup for there would be to setup another mode in ferrous, two tones, wide open screen.
it will make all the junk emit just a low grunt tone, anything else will give a higher tone.
dig the higher tones.
it will bring the goodies out of the junk.
