I've got a Xtera 305 and am enjoying it. I'm contemplating moving up. Does any one have pros ro cons of using either machine? I mostly coin shoot and hunt old farms for relics. Our soil here is not minieralized and I don't plan on gold prospecting. Thanks for your help.

Just wondering if you've picked up a new detector yet? I have a Safari and can vouch that it'll have no problem finding coins and relics. I say that, even though I've got very limited experience with using mine. It is a very simple turn-on-and-go machine if you like that, and if you'd rather customize the settings that pretty easy, too. Can't say anything regarding comparison to the Xterra 705 though. Good luck with your decision. I struggled with what to buy once I'd determined my budget ($1,000) since there are so many good machines out there. I think I made a good purchase.

I sure would like to dig some silver coins. Until then, I guess I'll be happy digging 1930s beer cans!

I have a 705 and I hear good things about it, I kinda wish I had more money to get the etrac.  I chose it over the comparable White's based on weight.   I am having fun with it, learning the settings.  I was able to help set my borrowed White's Coinmaster 4000D to detect better.  Hope that helps.
