I started metal detecting again around Sept 2009 with a new Minelab SE Pro detector. I've been hunting on a part time bases for about 3 months and have the following opinion of it.
It is well constructed, has good battery life, has excellent depth, pinpoints very well once you learn some techniques and the stabiltiy of the electronics during operation are very good.
I can't really say anything bad about it other than it is pricey and probably not a good unit for a beginner or a person who gets frustrated easily. I've posted some pictures of the finds I've made for this short period of time for 2009. All total I've found 750 coins, 3 rings, an assortment of flat buttons, silver war bullets and other misc. stuff. About 100 of the coins are silver. I hope I selected the right ones (pictures) and that you can see them fairly well.

So, John, when are we going out next?

Nice stuff, mate. Really nice.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

If I ever travel down that way I'll look you up. I've always had a interest in Australia and I'm sure it would be a great trip. I'm looking forward to getting in the water here some when it warms up again. Had about 12 inches of snow here about a day ago.

We could sure use some of that snow down here right now, John. Send whatever you don't want. Lovely picture, by the way. A treasure all by itself.
