I have a potential problem with my detector. It works just fine with the 7.5 khz 9" coil provided with the detector. I bought a Minelab 6" 18.75 khz coil...promptly took it to a local park to try it out. I went right to work and the detector locked up in overload. The manual states that you should be able to back away from the object that caused the overload and the detector will go back to the detecting mode. It did not. I re-installed the 9" coil and the detector works fine. I forced overload by by touching a swing set...backed away from the swing set and the detector went from the overload mode back to the detect mode. I sent the coil back...they said it worked on 2 of their machines and they were not going to send me a new coil. I asked them to please put the money back on my card. Is this a problem with my detector or the small coil that I sent back. My simplistic mind says that if one coil works...the other one doesn't...the one coil is defective. Appreciate any input. Ken
