I used to own a FISHER 1280-X AQUANAUT and found coins and fishing weights. I had no luck finding gold items with it and I was thinking maybe the 2.4khz frequency may have been preventing me from finding gold in the saltwater surf with the machine.
I would like to hear if anyone out there has had good success finding gold items in the salt water surf with a FISHER 1280-X AQUANAUT.

The PI is the way to go like the guys have said, unless you have a multi-frequency machine IMO.

I have a 1280X aquanaut, and its a great freshwater and ground machine, it also does fairly fine on salt water beaches, but does have some static due to the salt and magnetic deposits, but not too bad. Some swore by it on & in the salt water and have had good success, but for the most part, the Pulse Induction just does it all better there.
