Help I am new to metal detecting , I am a rockhound who wants to expand my finds.
What is a good  brand of metal detector  to start with. I don't want the simplest or cheapest, but a good middle range. In other words the best for the amount of money I can spend( $500.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Haleysdream

Hello Haley and  Welcome to Thunting.com . In my opinion for the $500 dollar maximum , that seems to be a tough price range to shop for the "Perfect Metal Detector" .  Your best choice is the Tesoro Vaquero for around $420. u.s. dollars from a reputable Tesoro dealer close to you and then you will have some change left over !! ............ Best Regards............Eugene

Hello Again . Here is one more great Tesoro Metal Detector , it also has a Lifetime warranty . And the Target ID is very , very accurate . It sells for $479.00 . If you search the internet you will find some great reviews and field test results on both the Vaquero and the Deleon .
So these are MY two Choices . Regards.........Eugene

What size object are you finding at 1 meter?   if it is a single coin size object that is pretty darn good depth.   If it is a VolksWagen beetle, then it isn't.
