My new Plugger straight shaft showed up today for the dual field. Had several carpal tunnel surgeries and the heavy dual field loop puts all the weight on the bent wrist with the Whites stock shaft. I can run my Pi plus all day with the stock shaft. The dual field coil though is killing me. Mounted the electronics behind the cuff and it makes for much better balance. When you swing the loop the electronics box hits your side a bit. Probably get used to that. I don't go in the water over a meter or so. Will give it a try. Anyone with any suggestions.. Chip in!

Two thoughts come to mind. Switch hands for swinging the coil to see if that helps. After half a century of swinging with my right hand, bursitis had me switch because of shoulder pain. It felt awkward at first but I got used to it. Also, I didn't have to switch hands to use my dominant hand to dig. After my bursitis cleared up (two years later) I find myself to be an "ambidetectorist" and can use either hand. Also, being in water will help reduce the weight significantly so you and I will both be waiting for summer fun.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
