is it possible to make ....this  Do you remember a picture where the metal detector of the future immediately indicated the type of a find, its condition......

No not until They start to use massive processors, which would also require A Huge power supply, Machine Like the V3i and the TDI SL can eat Batteries so in order to power a Machine that could do that you would need at leased A 12 Amp Battery supply a constant feed of 12- 15 Volts which would restrict the user a lot, and the screen alone would cost a fortune,

Power will be no problem.  Idea
This new detector will probably be able to receive power wireless.
(Remember Tesla’s wireless power transmission)?
And for $2k will be steal.
But I will be waiting for the 1.1 version where the detector will line up a buyer and negotiate the price for the finds.
I can only Dream.   No no! Crazy

You could pick up some specially centrifuged U235 on a North Korean auction site and with a few other goodies available on eBay make your own "on the board" nuclear powered detector. You could detect till the cows come home and never have to change batteries!!!

It is impossible to tell tragic what machine to use because he is talking about multi terrains, So There's only one machine that I would use to investigate such areas and that would be the MXT, and if I needed A PI then I would Buy the TDI, bet he needs to go and try a machine there because this is just pointless.

I agree with you.
some times you need more than one machine.
But i will advise tragac what ever machine you buy spend some time to learn it.
read the manual and then read it again and again.

You are spot on about that, I have been using one type machine for over 5 years and just yesterday I got out the Manuals on the older one and the new one and re read them again because of a topic discussing Hot Rock and peoples lack of knowledge about how to deal with them, And I did something years ago just by chance and always have, where other complain about Hot Rocks I just re read the manual and in a section that I had over looked there it was, Telling me to do what I had learned back then, So The Manual is the first place to look, I could not agree more..

Well Noted Mate,,  RR

They had to limit and Smooth out the Fly back.   Not very Efficient.  If done wrong you introduce a ton of Noise in the system.  Better to do it Off the Regular PC Board.

One way to do it would be to Use High Voltage Diodes Stacked to limit the voltage and Charge a Cap then Regulate to feed back to the battery.  Huh?

Here are some Ideas!
