21F  right now.   When it warms up a bit I'm going spend a hour or so at the camp.  Scoped out some open turf yesterday.   Was part of the Tent City.

Will let you know about the nails and stuff I find.   LOL

Go Up Go Down

This is the eastern end of the same place I found the 1912 silver Canadian 5 cent peace.   Go Figure that one.   When you live  in a tent chit happens.   Most I find there is Nails from the wood they burned to keep warm or a few other do dads.   Closer to the River you find burn pits from the Flu thing of 1917 or so.  THey burned tents Uniforms pockets full and if you hit one of those your in like flint. They used Pitchforks and Sticks to remove the Uniforms.  Problems are I can't find any Real Map as to the camp.   Some is Private properties now and most is City and that you can hunt.   Land Plats are about worthless.  Stuff is changing so fast you need to go ask the Locals.  Every one out there knows who 0wns what.  Worst come to Worst,  I can go to the Black Mtn target range and find Artillery rounds that did not Spoog.     In the south west we don't find the Coins and goodies you all do.  This is the Exception and it's just 3 miles from home.  Getting smaller ever year it is.

I've posted numerous times about Camp Cody.  I've posted links that pritty much show the Situation.

Karl this is not a Treasure situation.   This is a Good time history thing.   The 1912 Canadian  coin that happened to be found the same day and year New Mexico became a State was a Fluke for  sure.    it just happened..   Boy Was it Good.   Silver was money back then.  How to Elll did it get here and some poor Grunt lost it in the sand.Huh??

Reading History they was charging .25 cents for the Troops to get into Deming on a Buck Bord. They would hit the MOVIE theater, Yea they had one . And Then the Bars and Brothels.     I've gone so fare (IT WAS A GOOD TIME) to go to the old folks places we have .   Most just know there Old Property was part of it and found some goodies .  Never underestimate the  Old Folks.. There a Gold Mine.   Love to Talk,  Love to Be Heard, love to say what they have to be said.   This is how you Treasure Hunt.

Done Did Deal.  Nothing but some Nails,  A button not even Military and some waist Iron.  That's ok.  As long as I find stuff. Next trip is Plotted out. Moving over 100 yards and do it again.  The Burn Pits are along the river.  Working my way back there..    56F when I was out there.  Good stuff.  Have to keep the water in the mobel Home trickling or it locks up at 17F.    Another story about the Place.  Anyone use Geocach site ?   They list one on this property that is a Old Septic Tank. DO NOT GO THERE.  The Pit is a known Rattle Snake Den.  Some one had a SICK sense of Humor.   It will be found just south of the Cemitary on road  that was to the Sanitarium they just tore down.

Well you will find the sweet spot if you keep gridding the place like that, it's only a matter of time before you find it.

The  most Burn Pits was on what is how Cyprus Mines properties.  Closed down  as a Supper Fund site. The Old Guard Dog was cool and  would let you hunt if you asked.  Now there is  a New one and he is a bit of a But Nugget.
