Hi, I am brand new to all this. I plan to take my Whites Prism 3 out for the first time July 8. I'll be meeting a friend near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I have never metal detected before and we are looking forward to learning together. Won't get started until mid-day, so that eliminates Sandy Point State Park. I would appreciate any suggestions as to where we might begin our adventure. We'd like to stay relatively close to either end of the bridge (maybe 15-20 miles) because we'll be arriving there from opposite directions. We both will drive about an hour to meet up. I'm thinking maybe Anne Arundel County (Annapolis area) or Queen Annes County on the Eastern Shore. Any suggestions from the group?
Thanx,
Rocky

Hi Rocky,

Welcome from Arizona.   I've never had an opportunity to hunt the area, so I can't help with the suggestions, but I think I may be able to help get some responses by moving your thread to a different location (I thought about putting it in New User's intro, but that would give you lot's of "Howdy" and general tips and not a lot of specific info on the area----so I'm moving it to the Maryland discussion area).

One thing I CAN suggest......pull up google earth and look for old bridge abutments and/or old steamship/ferry docks.  A clue to those will be roads that end at or very near the water.   Then look to see if there are areas around that look like they could have had  buildings or picnic areas.
