Go Up Go Down

Good afternoon, dear colleagues, I would like to know how you feel about the use of modern earth sounding systems when searching for treasures, searching for burials, and so on.
The project is commercial, so there is only a discussion, other questions in a personal.
And so, let's start: an order was received from the Institute of Archaeologists to survey a group of mounds, the purpose of which was find a burial chamber on a surviving mound without resorting to excavations.
Dahlia will have pictures of what came out of it.

my current job is in the field of remote sensing...

even without special instruments you can distinguish buried structures just watching in the visible spectrum (pictures).

look at pictures attached, did you notice the 2 buildings ?

The question is, does the sound penetrate the ground?

ohhh sorry i didn't understand the question  Huh?

I know they use ultrasound to check on welding etc.. but i suppose that in that case the density of the metal will conduct ultrasound better...

From a geology point of view I think that loose ground (not rock) will be a poor conductor of ultrasound... because it is not "rigid"...
