So far this story mentions Cortez, Slavery gold silver diamonds, The Civil war, The Massons and the kgc, no one has posted here in 10 months because they either dont care about it or dont believe it, I think that it is the Later.

The whole story is just one big cooking pot and its all thrown in there and all you have got is a political Stew with everyone adding their version, I will never understand why you see this is of value because with all this would be knowledge it still comes up empty and we are no better off for the Repitition of a done to Death,

You dont have any comments you just come here to fill up our server and go, and to tell you the truth its all quite boring, and I would rather read about someone finding a gold coin same old same old,

RR

Enduring Symbol: Torn, tattered Civil War-era flag found at Sullivan County Historical Museum
Howard Greninger
The Tribune-Star
July 20, 2011

EXCERPT:

“Sullivan County contained many Southern sympathizers and there was a strong presence of what was called the Knights of the Golden Circle, a pro-Southern secret society that was the forerunner of the Ku Klux Klan,” said Frew, president of the Sullivan County Historical Society Inc.

“They shot down the flag and tore it to pieces. The main thing they sought to get rid of is the field of stars, which was the symbol of the union. They wanted a separate country of the confederate states,” Frew said.

In 2011 somebody said something that isn't a fact, just a story, and you repeat it here as fact. Do you even wonder why you can't buy credibility here?

Well  that's how it started. Back in the mid 60's some writer told a story about the confederate treasure and pick the KGC as the guardians, he could have picked any of a dozen groups that operated before during and after the war but he picked the KGC and the conspiracy freaks jumped on board.

I am getting tired of the cut and paste guys who have no brains of their own so just repeat what ever nonsense some other conspiracy nut write.

Aaah lets just be hopeful that some day someone will give us something real to read about like the C47B that diapered in 1946 maybe I'll do that some day in the near future.

Xavier, the C47 was nick named the Vomit Comet because it was so rough to ride in it that the troops were always throwing up in it,

That's probably one the least used of ALL the nicknames for the Goonie Bird, which was a phenomenal aircraft with a better glide ratio than the gliders it was towing.  The problem for the paratroopers wasn't the plane but the conditions it had to fly through.

Sorry, this is not a historical newspaper article at all since it's dated June 11th, but I did want to share it for those who may be interested in what folks are saying about the Knights of the Golden Circle. I have excerpted the only line in article that mentions the KGC. I have also included a link to the book mentioned in that same article.
To those who have joined us privately I say "thank you" and we are glad to have you on board.

EXCERPT: "According to a presentation by Elizabeth “Bebe” Cody to the Floyd County Historical Society in 1992, Kerr had become privy to some information about a group of local Southern sympathizers called the Knights of the Golden Circle. In a 1919 book called “Indiana and Indianans,” author Jacob Dunn asserts that Kerr may have at one time been a member of the political arm of the group."

On C-span, Saturday, July 13th, in Washington DC., Sorry I did not post this sooner. The title of the c-span program was called  "The Civil War: Knights of the Golden Circle". In it the author of this new history book, David Keehn looks at the secret society, the Knights of the Golden Circle, that sought to establish a slave empire spanning the southern United States, Mexico, Cuba, and the West Indies. But the organization later shifted its focus to overthrowing the U.S. government and carrying out clandestine operations to support “the Southern cause.”  Mr. Keehn talks about the key members in the secret society and their role in pushing for secession. The National Archives hosted this event.
