Cool  This is as informative as it gets, for to-days coinshooters.... Cool
I bought this book brand new in 1981 from a small ad in W&ETreasures. I could not put it down for two  days. Cheesy Wild part about that is, it's only 68 pages long and lots of that is pics and yet it still took two days to absorb what this author jams between those covers. This book is for folks who are serious about their hunts and Patrick will teach you how to squeak the most coins out of the ground from your time in the field. ...lb Cool

I hope some of you will see the value of this book right here, and how it will apply to you.  P.S. I get Zip for recommending this marvelous little treasure. My reward comes from you finding more coins and cool stuff because you read a book that I know is totally worth your time, and that I suggested to you... Cool

Smiley Ya Megan, Cheesy  That's kind of like the original old book, Men work - Women spend... Grin

String & MI, let me assure you boys, it IS a really good and very instructional, master coinshooters little book!  Cool

Outback, don't think you'll find it at the library but maybe some of the book places on the net (there are hundreds of places) carry it. Otherwise, it could be like trying to find hens teeth now, seeing as it was written almost a quarter of a century ago, by a regular guy just trying to help others! Cool

Hi LarryB !

I am a newbie here (but not new to MDing.).  So I just recently read your topic titled "Advanced Coin Shooting" (Author: Patrick Fahey) and you sold me !

Could not find the book on eBay or Amazon, so did a search on Google and saw a link for

AbeBooks
and they had it listed, so ordered a copy through them. The pricing on my order was $8.95 for the book + $4.35 USPS = $13.30 Total. I placed the order on AbeBooks website on Nov. 25, 2009, it was confirmed by the seller on the 27th and was shipped on the 30th.

Condition of book was listed as " hint of shelfwear to cover. all else fine, clean, crisp, tight. "

I anxiously await the arrival of this book and an enjoyable evening or two of reading, picking up some new coin shooting tips, etc..

Thanks for the recommendation Larry !  I will post my opinion here as soon as possible after reading.

Todd

Hi and thanks for stoppin by !

This is the sequel to my post originally dated Nov. 30, 2009 (then modified today Dec. 03)  regarding the subject book.

I received the book Dec. 02, 2009 via USPS, First Class, in fine condition and the packaging was excellent (Bubble bag with cardboard protector sheets inside).

Started reading the evening of Dec. 02 and finished the following evening.

My opinion of the book:  A great little book !  Jam-packed with information that I believe will improve the coin-shooting skills of newbie and pro alike. Some information I had never read before, even though I have a collection of (14) metal detecting books by the authors listed below and am a regular subscriber to W&ET and LT magazines !

Authors:
-Brockett, Robert C.
-Brook, Ty
-Chaplan, Michael
-Clynick, Clive J.
-Garrett, Charles L.
-Hughes, Dan
-Pascucci, Vincent C.
-Richmond, Dick
-Sallee, Larry
-Sickler, Robert H.
-Stout, Dick
-Volker, Roy

Cool Well Howdy there Todd! Nice to see you were able to track down that little gem of Patrick's! Really enjoyed your write up about it too.  Smiley Thanx then, for so nicely spreading the word to those others who would benefit from reading it too.

P.S. You may also want to add, perhaps The Treasure Hunter of the Century, to your list of TH'ing authors. Who would that be? Well, the the very same guy that got me started believing in Treasure in the first place and did the same for thousands before me and many more thousands after I found him? Still not sure who I mean? None other than KVM my friend. Karl Von Meuller, a very well loved man in the Treasure Hunting world. His "The Coinshooters Manual" is one of my very favorite books of any kind. It's not just about digging coins but Eyeballing and kitchen sorting techniques are covered really well too. So much powerful, tested and proven info, for us to sift through, in that little 48 page classic and I only paid $5 US back in '85!

Karl's Treasure Hunters Manuals, #6 & #7 are totally worth acquiring and just FILLED with stuff that You will Love. Guaranteed.  Wink

Keep swingin' dude!
