      I admit to the typical American ignorance of all but the most high-level outline of the history of Wales.   For example, I knew the Romans occupied Britain and had a good idea how far north their "control" extended, but was clueless as to how far west it might go.   So I did some web searching, which I am confident you have done also. It surprised me that the Romans apparently had some fairly extensive gold mines in Carmarthenshire.  (
