Full? How can a club be full? Do you have to wait for someone to die?

Call Inspector Barnaby! I feel a Midsomer Murder coming on! And they always come in threes, too!

While I'm at it, let me welcome you to these forums! Enjoy!

Have him hold a note to his chest so you can pin it there for effect. As good as splatter, if you ask me.

All kidding aside, have you actually inquired about the club and whether or not membership is really closed? It may be someone's misguided attempt to discourage you from joining.

If the clubs are that full..... start your own club! Find a few others, of like mind, figure out the legals and how the club is going to maintain its self, then go for it.

Here, the club would may not be a club, but a society, registered under the Societies Act, and required to make a quarterly report to the Minister, or Commissioner, in charge of societies. Societies, here, are incorporated just like a business, but are non-profit.

Of course a club has no legal requirements, here,  but if you want a "home," there is rent and utilities, and societies can get grants, sometimes.

All kinds of ins and outs to form your own club. You would attract old timer detectorists and THunters, too, especially with laid-back rules. For instance, I am a "River Rat," and the Rat motto is "Once a Rat, Always a Rat".... I have been a Rat for 33 years and never paid dues.... ".... Once a Rat...."
