Fisher 1266X

Go Up Go Down

HI,
New to the board, but a 30 year TH'er and former Fisher dealer.
I am considering a new detector to compliment, (never replace), my 1266X Fisher.

As I am in FL in the Winter I want a waterproof machine for the beach, coin shooting, and shallows, but I also want to use it in Northern Ontario for relics and coins.

Is there any real difference in the AT Pro International other than the metric designations, or is it set up more for the steel based coins that are now in circulation in Canada & elsewhere? If so, how does it work on US clad?

My 1266X is an all-star on US clad, but the signals off the new Canadian coins are very tricky, especially if the coins have been in wet or mineralized ground.

Any comments from owners would be appreciated.

Only difference between the US and the International (Ero) At is they have expanded out the High Tones.  I would thing they did something to work better with 50hz line freq but I can not find it documented.

Another option is the AT Gold.

The US version is Left hand drive,

And the Disc would have a lower setting for over here,

And Every time the US version finds something in All Metal it shouts out " Son Of a Bitch" and when it's in the Disc mode it goes YeeHaw,  Typical Texan  Shocked  Cool Cool

I need a Canadian version, we also have LH drive and 60HZ here too. I would rather it said "lord tunderin jeezuz" in all metal and "eh?" in discrimination mode but nobody makes anything for us anyway so no worries!!

The AT Gold has a true all metal mode and I think the Disc is set lower on the AT Gold the AT pro does not have an All Metal mode,

Why not look at a fully programmable machine so you can "teach" it your coinage?
