The AT Pro is an excellent detector for the price. On others forums people are always comparing it to much higher priced detectors. It will work for the novice or someone who has been metal detecting for years. To me it has a very short learning time. I have found several silver coins in the 3-4 months I have owned my AT Pro.

Glad you found a good detector off the bat.  And you're right, it is a very good detector for the price.  We've got a family of three who use the AT Pro.  They are pulling some really nice stuff out of a lot that other members with minelabs hit really hard for years.

I purchased a Garrett AT Pro last year and do not have any regrets. It is light weight and in my opinion just as good as the XLT it replaced. I am not knocking whites by any means. They are great detectors. The AT Pro is just better for me. It is really light weight, the swing speed is slower, it's water proof, and it can pick out a targets in places with allot of iron like nails around old home places. I would recommend this machine to anyone. It is a great detector with high end qualities with an affordable price. Chompin at the bits for a few warm days to get out and dig some holes.   Detecting
