Being Part American Indian your all making this a Lot harder then it should be.  You Use what you have when you have it and that's the game.  When Pumpkins  are available use them.  Chilies produce about the same Time.  Just a type of Squash.  Anything  around you eat them.

Pumpkins  , Water millions in the Summer, Here we wait until the field have been picked and just ask the Farmer if we can grab a few culls
. Left for the Coyotes.   Never been refused.   Most have a Flat Spot, Sun Burn on one side but they all cook the same.   Yep, Free Food.  We don't have much for corn here but in Colorado we did the same and they would give you a Bushel basket to gather what they expected you to have , thank you for asking instead of taking and send you to the best part of the Field.   Farmers are the Best.

Homie, we know you're right.....and as I've said a bunch of times, I don't usually use recipes....I use what's available and at hand.    BUT we're talking about helping folks who don't have the access that we have to the right ingredients to make something for the first time that they aren't used to.   At least I left the tomatillos out  Wink.

And while X-man's suggestion of using the micro-wave to skin the fresh peppers is a good one, it doesn't provide the change of flavor that roasting the chilis would.   I think you or I ought to post some plans for a home-made chili roaster so AU can have an even more authentic experience and get to enjoy the aroma of roasting chile.

Emmm, Come to think about it I left them out too.   Thems the best part of some of the best.  Dang.   Don't think you can buy them canned either.  They don't grow those here in Southern NM.   Ours come from Mexico.

For a Meal or two, a regular BB-Q with 1,2 Ouch Fire   (1,2 Ouch Fire is when you hold your hand over the coals and can just say, 1,2 Ouch.)  About 375F.
Just lay the Chilies on the Grill and flip them over until Blistered on all sides. Smoking wood can be added if you like.

And for a simple Green Chile Cheeseburger, the method shown below would work in a pinch.    But where's the fun in either method when we can talk AU into making an industrial model so he can supply roasted green chili for all of London.

Homefires Old Air Base is only 10/15 miles up the Road, If he could put in a word for me I could Run a 10 Foot Dry Washer Behind one of their F15s,   That should last me A while,   Shocked

And to chop them up real small I could send them through the Turbines in to a Catchers Mitt,      Cheesy

LOL I was just wondering, the guy in the photo is wearing leather gloves, is that to protect him self from the chilli or the fire LMAO I had a bad experience chopping chilli once or should I say after chopping them. I was drinking beer while doing the hard work.....well there was about 10Kg of the stuff that came out my garden, needless to say that after some beer drinking I had an urge to relive my self and that was a huge mistake Ho and by the way washing hands don't help much ether  Cheesy

Milk is good.....and beer (especially a strong dark beer) is better than water.   When it comes to washing your hands, I usually use lemon or lime juice followed by soap and water.
