Could use advice.
I'm going to St Augustine FL in June and hope to do some detecting with my Garrett AT Pro.
I've never been in this area and could use some advice as to where to try my new detector.
Anybody brave enough to give me some insight?

Any of the Open Beaches are good.  Buy Florida Law they all are open between the Low water and the High Water marks.

Getting there is another thing.

State Parks are off the Menu even the Water Marks.

Drive south down to Wabasso and have a beach hunt.

North of Sebastian Inlet is good.

Chucks Steak House was good when I was there but last I heard it was a Long Long Walk to get back in there too.

Thanks for the insight, Homefire.

THe two areas you suggested:
Is there a particular reason that you selected them?
Have you shot there and of so do you suggest getting into the water or stay dry?

All are beaches along Mel Fishers Wreck sites.

Escudos' Reales, and More have and continue to be found there.

You can't go in the water because of the claims and Leases held.

After a Stomper Storm is the Best times.

I was stationed at Patric AFB just a bit north of there in the 80's!

I've looked at a map.
We're staying in Palm Coast.
IT looks like it's a bit south of ST A.
And it appears that there are a lot of golf courses eating up the real estate where good coins should be found!
With all that coast line I would expect tons of metal detectorists chewing up the territory.
I usually try to find the unbeaten path.
Once found a parking lot (no asphalt) where the locals visit.
From what I found I'd bet I was the first to ever hunt that piece of property.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not greedy.
All I want is a real or something like it.  I really don't need the junk coins we produce today.

Drive like your life is on the Line because it is.

People get Fired up and don't much care .

Seen more folks get killed on that stretch of road then any place else in the US of A
