" used a hammer drill to dig up concrete flooring which contained specks of gold, before processing it and selling it for about $19,000.
At one point, they used a vacuum cleaner to collect gold fragments as they chipped away at the concrete."

You're under arrest for cliche abuse. You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney, Homefire will be provided to you.

That was based on your title on this post.

As to the story, how did the goldl get into the concrete? Was it in the sand used for the aggregate?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

LOL,  Don't be pinnin me with this  one.  I'm skint right now.   Hell don't even have a Passport.  Emmmm You paying for a pass port ?  Travel time and Escort?   I need a escort to keep dem Koala's  off me back.  Wicked Wanda the Wonder Wife would do.  She does furry fuzzy Critters well.   Heard they Like Robing Prospectors too.  Eaaa I get a Prospecting trip with this deal ?   Nothing extravagant.  Say two weeks in da bush?  Meals Paid ?  Kinda had my eyes on one of those Crock Sluices I seen on You tube.

Mercury would not cause memory issues.  The guy is using it as a crutch not to snitch on his buddies, I think.

Breaking into a mill ?   Maybe the gold was spatters on the floor ?  Whole story sound more then odd, eaaaa?

looks like the gravel they used for the concrete was gold bearing.
very often we pan the mullock hips of the old mining holes with good colour in them.
luck of water make the old timers to look only for the big gold

Homie i will send the invitation as soon as i hit the BIG one  Smiley

Cool Beans Sir.

The property I'm on here was in fact ancient  riverbed .  The current DRY River is about one mile west of here.  We have about 3-9 ft of Sand  River Rock and clay layers under that.

I can hand pan the sands here and find visible gold.  Dang near enough to call payable.  If pumping the water didn't cost more then  the values I could do something here.
