Since you live in the US, I suggest you go to the local Home Depot and grab a can of rubber tool dip. There are several varieties in tall cans which are used to dip tool handles making them rubber coated. They also come in spray cans for sealing roofs, etc. Clean your existing coil with a bleach and dish soap mixture. Then use the tool dip brushed on or sprayed on. That way you are sure to have a matching coil. Then be sure to seal where the wire enters the coil with RTV or layers of the tool dip. Go up the cord for a few inches, too.
