As for there being lots of Civil War stuff to find near Romney, I'd say that's pretty much an understatement. I just read that Romney changed hands something like 55 or 56 times during the Civil War. I also read that Romney played a role in the earlier French and Indian war also, so you have a good chance of finding pre-Revolutionary War militaria also.
