My preference in metal detectors are simplicity in operation & a frequency range between 17-19 khz.

Sounds like you might want to check out Tesoro, specifically the Tejon

or the Lobo SuperTraq   If you don't mind dropping down to the mid 14 khz range Tesoro has a very wide selection that might be worth your time to look into.

I have  a Tesoro Cibola (14 khz range) but i wish to experiment/try a detector(s) with a higher frequency.  Here is a website with an interesting list of detectors & their frequencies.

I was also 'told' that fine gold & women's jewelry can be detected 'best' at a frequency around 18-20 khz. Since 80% of rings are lost by women i would prefer a detector that has a higher frequency response. I also realize that the frequency will change because of ground mineralization & the use of the md discriminator.

nickel_n.........I know that particular md is a pi.   I dislike md's that take 8 batteries!

As BA Said the Tesoro's run in the Mid 15khz and a lot of them Run at 17.5khz,

The PI does not, I might know a few dealers that will ship to you, But I am wondering if this is one of Eric fosters designs as he is the God Father of PI Followed by Bruce Candy,

One of Eric's Designs/ Or Principals you can Find In the White's TDI/ TDI SL,

But if Money is not an Issue Checkout the Garrett ATX, Its doing big things out there since its release, It Looks Like Garrett's RECON Mine clearance Detector, In fact its the same to look at and a Must have Item,

Hi !

I've been swinging C Scope detectors for years. I always have one in my arsenal. I can't remember any reference to Eric Foster in the CS 4 PI, but he was involved in the former cs 6 PI (I hat two of these).

In my european opinion, I think there are better PI units built in the USA than this C Scope 4PI, and it would be a waste of time and money to have one shipped in the USA.

I personnaly swing a sea hunter MKII, and God knows I like C Scope !
