Google Free AVG.  Been using it for over Ten years and nothing has ever got past it. Well One time I turned it off to download a O-Scope program and forgot to turn it back on.  Stupid me.

Christoph
Sorry to hear you are having those virus problems. Are you a victim of ID theft? I hope it is not that bad.

Homefire,
Keep that AVG activated at all times. No program is worth having if you have to compromise your computer safety. I have AVG on my computer also and think it is great.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Only turned it off to down load a O-Scope Program.  It was a Well Known Program and had issues with AVG because they used some same Areas.  Yep, AVG is the Bomb.  Better then Norton and other paid protection programs.

Yeah, that Norton stays with you forever even if you uninstall it. Tough bird to get rid of.

Two new computers in one year.  I know how to do away with it now.  You will find in in about 6 places on your computer .

Not trying to bash Norton, but it kind of takes over your computer. This is not good for power users. There are people that like Norton though. Maybe you can post on how to get rid of it for people that are having Norton problems.

I am Not Shouting at you,

Here's the Problem,, why we do not delete Accounts,

If we delete your Account Then Every Topic you have posted in will no longer make sense and those members who are still here will look like they are NUTS, (which they Might Be) Because the conversation will be useless Also we do not delete post either unless they are offensive, Ok.

I hope this helps you understand Why,

AU

Aaah, thank you Runner; that makes a lot of sense. Can my account be deactivated but the threads left active for other members? Perhaps I am using the wrong terminology and should be saying " can you lock my account, so not even I may access it? "

Why would you want to do that? What happens if you miss us and change your mind?

I will, of course, miss you all and will greatly miss all the members at "Detecting Wales" and "Metal Detecting Forum Europe". Membership of all three forums has taught me a great deal about metal detecting, and in a world that is full of people attempting to destroy each other, it has been most refreshing to share with an international community in peace  and concord. Perhaps, having closed down most of my subscriptions to internet forums, I should place "Thunting.com" on hold for a while, and see how my problems pan out?

To miss quote Arnold " I may be back "  Undecided

Stay safe, stay well, and happy hunting.

                                       Chris (Christoph1945)  Detecting
