I am not real sure what you are asking us to do here wuzneme. If you think that a story about a Texas treasure posted in Legendary Treasure should be cut and paste to Texas I see that as a counterproductive move info would be lost between the different threads.

 "sources/reference"

Lots of times when a legend is posted no source is given because the story has been printed in dozens of books and mag's that its imposable to know the original source. Plus some of us are not willing to give up our sources.

I tried to Consolidate MAPs in the Map section somewhat like  your saying here.

The Post has become somewhat Over sized and hard to Manage.   Some day I need to Break it down into sections I think.

It turned out to be a list of States and Countries with just a Jumble of Links.

Each link should be Annotated as to what can be had there but again it would out grow it's functionality.

Still trying to figure out a better way to handle that one.

This forum can never be like this. Because it's a forum. If you want to start a database, be advised that Wiki has free database pages for you or anyone to start a free form database of any size. Forums cannot do that. At best, a working search function is the best you can hope for. The database structure is set up to allow linking to topics and users. To split that into a free form data structure would make linking of threads and subjects absolutely impossible. Then it's no longer a forum.

Your wish could someday come true but at present, the structure of MySQL won't allow it. Ask again in 10 or 12 years.

Yes, I'm thinking he is asking for tomorrow.   I still can't figure out how to consolidate the Maps.

BitBurg said to post them all under each state that makes sense but then there not under Maps!

It may be best to do it that way.

Only problem I have with that is most Links are multi Purpose and not just State related.

Eaaaa!

The only way we could do what he is asking is to demand that all are posted under the Relevant section and that would be to complicated for the common poster.

Hi,

Since am digging myself into a wee hole here, perhaps i best rephrase my wording a little better.

example; random state - within that state topic board- 1. topic titled libraries, archives , media & misc, (for links or even addresses)
                                                                            2. maps

so eventually each state has its has it`s own compiled "general" where to go to for what ever it is you are seeking.

I would never suggest an idea of giving up your own personal hard earned sources, but the main stream state libraries and the likes well thats just general guidance.

pencil me in sir

i hope that helps clarify whats rattling around in my grey matter, perhaps my wording and phrasing was wrong with the likes of one big database, but as mentioned above, it sorta fits in with what is already here, just bumping up the level of interest in each state, and for those, like myself who knows little of the states it`s a good go to for a starting point.

Anyway, thats my tuppenceworth idea, thanks all for responding.

Your talking about a Data Base.

People post in individual Post.

No one has time to Redirect post to the appropriate location.

As GD stated, this is a Forum.    A good Data Base could take that input and locate it in the correct location.

Some what like gOOgle can do.

This is not that sorta place.

Buy the Way You have a Good Idea but it seems sorta not possible here.

ok, thanks

It really is a good idea just not in a forum. Look into starting your own Wiki page. It's easier than you think.

My postings get move for being in wrong space but that just makes thing harder to use sight. The info is great when i can find the right spot and everyone is real good about giving good anwsers so thanks alot happy hunting

Great site, good folks, lots of info here. A simple search function would be nice. A way to add videos would be nice. Contest could work too.
