Hello Ksighter

If you are interested in learning more about August Gissler and the Cocos treasure? And live near New York somewhere there is an archive called "Foul Anchor Archives"

It was the private collection of Robert I Nesmith who collected unpublished manuscripts, papers and charts and over 400 hundred volumes on pirates and pirate treasure, including many rare first aditions.

There are only two copies I know of August Gissler's private diaries in existance. One in the Foul Anchor archives and another orginally in Costa Rica which was sold to a private collector . A Swiss banker.

If you manage to find the "Foul Anchor Archives" and be able to get permission to reveiw the archive, then you will see some documents relating to Cocos Island treasure very few people have ever seen.

Regards Hardluck.

Hello all

Here is one small part of August Gisslers Map of Cocos Island that he made during his time spent on the island. The whole map is owned by a Swiss banker.

Christopher Weston believed that Gissler found a total of 33 gold coins on Cocos. Many believed came from a location what he called old pirate village where he found the foundations of shacks.

Hello Koubiac

Thank you for your interest.

Perhaps some one has already discovered where some of it might be?

Hello goldnboy

Treasure hunting on Cocos Island is a thing of the past. It is UNESCO world heritage site. The only treasure now to made from Cocos is tour companies charging over priced dive holidays and authors writing the same rehashed legends on Cocos in books.

Kind of sad really  Cry

Hardluck

 hi  Hardluck ,
Sad is a bit of an understatement! But if it was opened up for all there probly wouldnt be much of the island left in its original form. Maby oneday someone like us will get government permission to have a good lookover this famous treasure Island and part of this treasure mystery will be solved.  Cool
