Go Up Go Down

A dear friend of mine, Michael Talbot, wrote the book To the Ends of the Earth, a sweeping historical novel about the history of the Europeans in Australia. He followed that with his second book in the series called A Willful Woman. He is nearly ready to publish his final series of books. They are historically accurate with fiction embedded into the books. When you read about an event such as the Eureka Stockade, it actually happened but the conversations of the characters might be more fiction than fact. His books are a fun, relaxing way to learn Australian history and still be guaranteed that the historical events really happened.

If we are perfectly honest, we must admit that nobody who writes about treasure leads in any way is quoting from original documents written by the person hiding the loot. Except in very rare cases, it's all fiction. In truth, all we see on these matters is rumor, folklore, conjecture and musings. We have to niggle real treasure leads from documents that have no resemblance to a treasure map.

I find the research and discovery to have equal value in the grand scheme of treasure hunting.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I also agree with GoldDigger. In my view it is interesting who spreads false informations and why. Some of the rumors in the legends of Cocos are false. They are prooved false. I think it is not necessary to repeat this wrong informations in so many texts. There are enough true facts and enough romantic not prooved questions left.

By the way: My English is not so well, i'm sorry.
