Go Up Go Down

I was in a park which was behind a shopping center using my PI machine when the ultrasonic alarm was turned on for a daytime test. Whoa! I had huge buzzing in pulses and the detector was useless. I thought it was broken so I returned to the car and got a VLF/TR machine. It was better and still found metal but there was all sorts of chopping noises. When I saw an electrician at a panel in the back, I had a chat and he told me what he hed turned on. It was a huge shock to me that we had to be concerned about such outside influences. I took a lunch break and returned after he had finished.

But, as you say, I learned a lot from that disaster. I was crushed that my PI was broken and very relieved when I found out it really wasn't! Yippee!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hands have Metal in them.  We call it Salt and Calcium.  All made of Metal.

I knew about them As Minerals and classed them as so, but I never really thought of them as Metals??

I think many Detector companies are Tweaking their older models until they are ready to release their next offerings, It is said that Fisher might be releasing A PI machine so that will be good, And The Fact that Whites Logged A Patent back in 2010/2011 for A Hybrid machine that many companies are Panicing as to what it Is,

This past week Minelab have started making their Old GPX-4500 that they stopped making 5 or 6 years ago, So maybe their GPZ-7000 has not sold as well as they had hoped And the sale price over here is £2500.00 and in Australia its about $3200.00 AUD, so in the US it will be around the $2600 mark which is very good in you consider the cost of the GPX 4800 and the GPX 5000,

I was going to buy one but in these 5000 year old sites I need A PI with some sort of Discrimination Like The Whites TDI because I can Choose the type of metals that it sees'

Must had been enough Ultra Sonic power to turn a fish into Jelly but I've seen it done.  Could had Effected the Coil ?   Movement of the Wire?  I can't see a Altra Sonic device producing that much RF or EM to do that unless it was the weapon from Hell.  In order to cover a Parking lot with Sonic waves usable the Transponder may have had a Major output of EMF?

Mine Lab are shitting there selves.   Whites has came out with a Machine for less then half the price and can do the same stuff.   Mine lab has even lost there second party guys because the Whites Machine can use the Same Coils!    I just wish Whites would do away with the Stand Up post for control...   I know I or my Dogs can break it.

I had  Something happen that had me all worried, with my first experience of Detector Cross talk, Me with my First MXT Pro with the 12" Coil and my Buddy using his older MXT with A New 12" Coil That I bought Him, Lost In my dream world I started to hear A Pulsing noise and I thought I had a coil problem so I nudged a rock with it and my Boot still no change, then it started to fade and I looked up and there was my Buddy 200 feet away, So I learned don't work 2 MXTs with 12" Coils within 200 feet of each other, lol

The Display on the end of the upright handle.    That I don't like.   If my dog don't break it I will.

It's funny you should say that, Because I like it, Yet the one you Like The S shaft on the GMT with the Meter works well also, But Saying that the S Shaft system Does Feel Lighter and more Balanced The TDI SL is extremely Light even more so when you consider it is A PI Machine,

Go Up Go Down

I was out with a mate once and he kept stopping and digging for a while at several spots. He said, "I get this beautiful signal and when I start digging, I lose it. See if there's anything in this hole." I tried, nothing. After several more empty holes, we finally discovered he had steel toed boots on. Brand new and he found out the hard way that his detector could find his toes quite nicely. It took me a good long while to realize that my sand scoop could be detected 2 feet above my coil when it swung under the scoop. That got me to designing a retracting reel for it that allows me to have it behind me on my lower back.

I've been out with steel toes more then a few times.  Never had that problem.  Guess it has to do with me sweeping to the side and not in front of me?

That's A Great Idea With the Scoop, I have been having similar problems with My Pick and my spade, 12" Coils are all very nice but the detection field is Huge, the only way I can get around it is either drag it on a string or carry it over my shoulder with the metal part about 18" behind me,,

The Old Theory about Bigger coils loose sensitivity is a thing of the past, this new 10" 2D (DD) and that 15" have Incredible sensitivity to tiny things from about the size of a grain of sugar, which is most likely why they pick up my pick when it is on my belt,

Well, FYI, I used a chain style key chain reel. I took out the chain (which hangs unless you pull it exactly straight out) and put nylon parachute cord in its place. A few experiments to see about the right length and Bob's your uncle. Now, as long as I don't get any taller . . .
