Aye mate.  Xavier was a good guy. I'll miss him and his wisdom.

Good on ya Mate, think I might do the same with a ration of JD,

So many thoughts,,,  Here's to a wonderful human being,, and a person wise beyond his years, and a bloody Good Mate,,,,,  XAVIER  Great

His capacity to learn new things was brilliant. I'd deliberately only point him towards the answer. He loved "solving the puzzle" and I would only occasionally tutor him on a subject completely. I sent him lots of electronics gear, parts and even a logic analyzer to help him. Why not? He needed more and more money to finance his hobby and no chance of earning it. Sometimes I'd order from eBay or from Aliexpress and have things drop shipped to him.

He was a truly great man.

His ability to learn had another side to it as well, He could explain how things worked so people with no electronics back ground could understand it, As he did me on the principals of Pulse Induction and I never felt like a Troglodyte afterwards,
We had made plans and I kept machines here for him, we had a spot picked out with a Pub near by and we would be only 2 minutes away from the site, and we had some very special sites to detect as I got permission to do so and we where going up north to go prospecting too,

I had it all worked out from Doctors to living quarters and 3 days before he was going to come here they took him in to hospital and then we had to wait 2 weeks and then he was going to try again to get here but they called him in again, We were going to Invade on peter and make a surprize visit to him and laughing and joking about the look on Peter's face etc,

We would sometimes laugh and joke for hours on Video Skype and it always raised his spirits,  such good times, lol

You should post that on the Update thread because I will eventually print that to PDF and send it to his sister.

John what exactly did Xavier die from?  No one has said.  But my guess is he had some type of cancer.

Melanoma. He had a large one on his cheek which was removed and worried at by the doctors. He underwent 4 different surgeries and chemo as many times but they never could get it all. He kept his hopes high, planning trips to visit both RoadRunner and me. I have an 1850s farmhouse, never searched, and I was saving that for when he visited. Bittersweet now.

Bless him,, he got a tiny little skin cancer around near/on his ear and it grew bigger and they removed it, then it spread to his cheek,  and each time they got him in hospital they would try something new, anyway back in march 2013 it spread to his lymph node and the doctors and to do more and more But he just battled on regardless, he explained it all the best he could but as soon as he would run out of words I would change the subject and get him laughing and joking,, Bless his heart,, he use laugh so much that he could not get the words out or when he was talking he would laugh and forget what we were talking about and I was totally useless to him coz I was laughing too and we would have to start a new subject because neither of us could remember,

A fine pair we made, neither use nor ornament but what ever we were we had fun doing it, and ??

you can guess the rest,

My only regrets of knowing Xavier is not meeting him in person.   I sent him a original Surf PI and a XL 500 to experiment with.   He had them working detectors in  hours I think.  He Gifted them to people he knew wanting to get started in Detecting.  The whole time Xavier was making this Trip he never lost his Quest for Knowledge and Care  for Others.  He knew it was  a One way trip and Marched On.  Doing his thing.  I can't see my self going through this situation and being that strong.  Doing what he could with what he had left to the End was his goal.  Ya have to admire a MAN that could do that.   I think if I was in that boat , I would had curled up in a ball and separated  my self from everyone I knew.  Like a sick Dog walking away from the Pack.  You have to Admire the Man.  He ended like he lived his life.  Doing his thing.  KIND, QUEST for Knowledge and on the March.

Xavier !   You said I was going to get one of the first Proto Type of your VLF machine.    If I make it to were ever your going is it going to be Finished ?

Thanks Guys. I am sure I wasn't the only one who was curious.
Xavier would tell me how lucky I was to be able to travel etc with the camper  but i envied him
As well.  Living in England and south Africa etc. He was a great guy always filled with great information.
Back when I was a mod he spent a lot of time talking with me. I was going through so much physical and
Emotional hardships at the time. It was  nice to have him to.talk to.  Even though I still went off the deep end for a while.
But i made it back stronger than ever.  Thanks to my family and friends.  Like Xavier and John and Bill and Jim who
Kept up with me as i went through several rehabilitation periods.
Xavier would send me an email at least once a  month or more to check on me.
For that i am forever grateful.
