It picks it up within 5 to 10mm = 1/4" - 3/8" of an inch, which is not bad considering its running at 36khz.

That would Work for most Crevecing I do.

it will pick up larger items at 3" TO 6" and coins from about 1 1/2" to 2", but I have noticed they have change the pick up area which use to be the first 2" of it Now the whole probe Part picks up things,

on A Air Gun Pellet weighing 0.62DWT or 14.8 grains OR 0.96 grams or 0.031ozt  It will pick it up at 13/16" or 20mm, Baring in mind it is Hollow,

my detector picks them up at over 6" inches maybe as much as 8"inches in the Air which is good considering its A PI and they don't do well in Air Tests,

A little late for a suggestion, but if you don't mind changing it a gain, why don't you combine the two?  You could have 'Roo holding the shield.

BA

Sorry BA, Yes that's a Great Idea, I will try and work out how to do it.
