Brag,  brag, brag.....must be nice! If I knew my 87 year old father-in-law could take care of himself in this weather, the   Kiss & I would be headed SOUTH! Those of you in the colder weather, don't forget to take care of your pets!!    Whats the badge represent Carl?

The badges are the clubs I belong to. Don't need 'em, but I get asked alot if belong to any clubs. This lets them know without having to ask especially when I'm in a hole trying to dig something up.
I think you should go south for some R&R, and take your dad with you. You will never have another one. Smiley I miss my dad terribly.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

The one on his pocket has a really neat magnetic clip to it so you don't go putting holes in your good diggin' duds (or so you can stick it to the refrigerator so it doesn't get lost).

And he is right, you need to bring your Dad done here....just don't wait too long.  We're forecasting temps an average of 24 degrees higher than they were for the same day of the week last week.   (for the non-US members,  the current high temps where Carl and I live are running 23 - 27 Celsius.  Last week the highs were between 7 and 14 C)

The reason BA knows about the badge is because we are members of the same club. Great guy. The other badge is for a prospecting club I belong to. It also doesn't hurt to advertise a little. What better recreational activity is there than belonging to a club? (Besides the local suds club) Grin. I only found 3 dimes and 3 pennies and 2 buried ufo crashes about 8 inches down. Anybody got a machine that will discriminate them out? I'm running full discrimination and medium sensitivity.

Well I sure can see the badge's coming in handy for many reason's now knowing what they represent. As for my father-in-law. We have traveled together several time's via plane. But he cannot climb step's at all. Cannot walk very far at one time. Will not let us use a wheel chair to transport him. Having both hip's replaced, terrible athriris etc... and if that was'nt enough, he hates water. (the beach, sea,  etc...) He use to live in Mesa Ar. and would of continuing living there while working had his wife not gotten valley fever so they moved back to the homestead. He love's HOT weather. We have asked him several times if he would like to go to Flo. with us to see his other daughter and grandkids. He will never go. So, we do what ever he wants to do and that is'nt much. If there is gambling involved, he's there. Not our cup of tea. He live's right next door so, we see plenty of each other. He's cut his own grass ever year and get's pissy when I sneak down and do it. I'm going to have to takehis lawn mower key's away this year I think?? He's almost 87

Yea, but he's your dad and I am sure you love him very much in spite of his ways. Bring him to Phoenix. We got loads of Casino's here now. Prop him up against a machine or blackjack table and let him go. Be sure to come back for him in couple of days. Grin. We been having some warm weather lately. I am sure he would love it.

Lol, he can fly free and stay free for a couple nites in laughlin @ Don's ever 3 months. They fly out of Joplin Mo which is only 50 miles from here. He did'nt even want to go there this month. I think when summer gets here he will regain some strength. He walks on a treadmill (he says) 20 minutes in the am & pm. He fell  blowing leaves last fall getting the extension cord wrapped around his feet and did'nt realize it till he went to take a step. Laid there for what he said was an hour before pulling himself to the handrail and  crawling in the house. Bruised up pretty good. Anyway, we need to watch him. I apologize to you guys for rambling on about this.  I'll drop it ....Just been on my mind alot lately....

Not as bad as the alternative. Can't go detect at all then, not even from the armchair. When I pass I want them to prop me up in the park with my headset on and my detector in my hand and a sign on me that says "getting old sucks!"  Laughing Laughing
