That is one of the hardest thing to make, One Tiny Mistake and Boooomm no more Valve/Tube and no more Eye sight.

I worked 18 years for Westinghouse.   Most tubes, valves in the UK, are now made in Russia.

   Did you know that you can produce X rays from a Diode Tube from a old TV?      3000VDC    and make em glow blue.    You have X rays!     Put a poloiride  film under your hand . Role it out and you have a X Ray of your hand.

Yep! In the tv's they used a 3A3, also color sets had a 1v2 focus rectifier. HV rectifier had 40kv at 15734 kHz and 25kv out. B & W ran at 15750 with 15kv out. Focus rectifier put out 4 to 5kv. Mini tesla coils Haha. Xrays galore. Good thing they were in metal boxes.
